President's Message

Welcome to the New Website of ASID California North.

Installation at the Design Center Galleria was a wonderful kick-off for the 2010-2011 term with approximately 80 members in attendance, including six Past Presidents, Deborah Crosby, Lisa jasper, Suzanne Zurinaga, Camille Finucci, Darlene Jurow and Judy Henn. This year with thanks to photographer Douglas Sandburg installation photos were taken and a few of these are included in this issue of SF Design.
If you didn’t make it to the installation this year, be sure to attend the next one! It was a lovely event and fun was had by all.

Alf Nucifora of the Luxury Marketing Council wasMaster of Ceremonies, Jerry Jacob expressed his appreciation to the 2009-2010 Board and the chapter gave special recognition to Joe Horan, FASID with the Life Membership Award, Bruce Goff, FASID received the Chapter Medalist Award, the highest award bestowed by the Society upon an ASID Professional Member at the Chapter Level and Martha Thompson received an Honorary Medalist Award. Overall, the event was so successful, so well received, we may consider holding it in the same location next year, but of course next time we will include a sound system!

We have a strong board and we have planned events and programs that we feel reflect your preferences and the needs of ASID as a whole. Please volunteer your services for these programs and events, get to know the Board and the responsibilities that are required to be a Board Member and express your interest. This year we have been challenged by National to have the 2011-2012 chapter slate created much earlier than in years past. We will be sending a survey soon searching for interested parties. Please respond to the survey. We look forward to seeing you soon and speaking for the Board, we wish you a joyous holiday season.
